Removed from a traditional gallery, Balmond’s critically acclaimed sculpture H_Edge stands outside the Palazzo Spini Feroni, in front of the famous Ponte Vecchio Bridge in Florence, as part of an exhibition at the Ferragamo Museum. H_Edge, comprised from thousands of aluminium plates that are held counter-intuitively in tension by stainless steel chains in a precise balance of forces, envelops the visitor in a shimmering, shifting maze of fractal space.
