COMPLEXITY AND CONVENTION MOVES TO YALE

Complexity and Convention, the final show of the critically-acclaimed exhibition series, Archaeology of the Digital, will be moving to Yale University from December to May 2017. Curated by US architect and critic, Greg Lynn, and organised by the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA), the multi-year programme rigorously investigates the emergence of digital technology and its relationship to architecture.

The show includes the Chemnitz stadium collaboration between Peter Kulka, Ulrich Königs and Cecil Balmond. Original imagery of the stadium roof, featuring a series of turning and self-supporting arcs in space, will be on display. The work highlights Cecil's early experiments with orbiting forms.

The CCA is also preparing to publish a print book as part of their ongoing research into digital tools and thinking in architecture titled When Is the Digital in Architecture? The book will also feature the Chemnitz stadium project.
