Cecil Balmond received an honorary Doctorate of Science today, 25th July, from the University of Southampton where he obtained his BSc in 1965.

“It is a great honour for my original university to recognise me in this way. It was exceedingly nice to meet my old Professor, Professor Morice, as he was the reason why I came to Southampton. I follow the success of the University and come up every few years to visit my old haunts, I especially have a soft spot for Glen halls, my old halls of residence where I was for three years and loved my time there.” Cecil Balmond
