Taking inspiration from the pages of Balmond’s best-selling book, informal,the 2004 exhibition at Arc en Rêve Centre D’Architecture in Bordeaux invited visitors to explore Balmond’s investigative approach. Presenting a wealth of original material, the exhibition provided unique insights into the processes of sixteen of Balmond’s high-profile projects including the V&A Spiral,CCTV and Pedro e Inês  bridge. Taken on a journey across six rooms, the visitor could get up close to a rich selection of models; discover key concepts and their significance to Balmond’s practice; study display boards filled with drawings, diagrams and in-depth descriptions; watch insightful videos and observe full-scale projections presenting on the sixteen projects.
